Civic Amenity Visits:A REFUSE LORRY will next be available for the collection of household items between 9am and 11am on these Saturdays: Fulford Village Hall: 18th July, 26th September Mayfield Drive, Blythe Bridge: 1st August, 10th October Common Road, Rough Close: 20th June, 15th August, 24th October **PARISH OFFICE**EVERY MONDAY, TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY (EXCEPT BANK HOLIDAYS), the Clerk of the Parish Council will be present at the annexe to the MEIR HEATH & ROUGH CLOSE VILLAGE HALL, GRANGE ROAD, MEIR HEATH between 9.30AM and 12.30PM to discuss any problems or issues which the Parish Council may be able to help with. The Parish Council has now taken over responsibility from the County Council for some of the grass cutting in the parish. The County Council will continue to cut grass verges mainly outside of the main settlements and of course the Borough Council and Stafford and Rural Homes retain responsibility for some other areas of the parish. Details of the areas the Parish Council has now taken from the County Council are set out in the table and maps showing precisely the areas outlined are available to view at the parish office. Recycling - A new improved waste collection service for households across the borough has been rolled out. New Houses - Where Could They Go?Stafford Borough Council is preparing a plan to establish where new housing development could be located in the Borough by 2026. Each Council has been given a target number of houses which they must accommodate in their plans, but at this stage no decisions have been taken about where the new homes will be built. To make these decisions they need to gather information on all potential areas where new houses could be built in the future. Please Remember:The deadline for responses was 12 noon on Tuesday, 11 November 2008; and no decisions have been made about allocating future housing sites Proposed quarry at Fulford Dale & Moddershall GrangeCemex UK has made an application to be considered by Staffordshire County Council in its Core Minerals Strategy to open a sand and gravel quarry on the areas shown on the map below. The site totals 96 hectares and quarry operations would last approximately 24 years, extracting a total of 750,000 tonnes of product. A public meetind was held on MONDAY 28th JULY at MODDERSHALL VILLAGE HALL This meeting gave information on how local residents and other stakeholders can make objections under the consultation process. The strategy documentation and questions are on the County Council website, Staffordshire County Council where responses can also be made electronically. FPC Response Document - November '08 The closing date for consultation was 24th November.
