Gypsy site appeal

The Planning Inspectorate has allowed the appeal, and has granted planning permission for the change of use for the stationing of caravans for five gypsy pitches, with utility/ day rooms, access road and areas of hardstanding ancillary to that use, at Woodfield, Hilderstone Road, Spot Acre subject to several conditions.

The full decision can be viewed:

APPEAL DECISION

At the end of five years, the use shall cease and all caravans, structures, materials and equipment brought on to the land in connection with the use shall be removed.

The inspector recorded that this development would reduce the openness of the Green Belt in this part of the Borough, and also represents encroachment into the countryside, which is contrary to one of the purposes of including land in the Green Belt, and also that the proposal represents inappropriate development in the Green Belt.

Grass Cutting – Fulford Parish Council

The Parish Council has now taken over responsibility from the County Council for some of the grass cutting in the parish. The County Council will continue to cut grass verges mainly outside of the main settlements and of course the Borough Council and Stafford and Rural Homes retain responsibility for some other areas of the parish. Details of the areas the Parish Council has now taken from the County Council are set out in a table (click here) and maps showing precisely the areas outlined are available to view at the parish office.

Subsequently this application was amended limited to the Moddershall Grange site.

New Houses - Where Could They Go?

Stafford Borough Council has prepared a plan to establish where new housing development could be located in the Borough by 2026.

Each Council has been given a target number of houses which they must accommodate in their plans, but at this stage no decisions have been taken about where the new homes will be built.

To make these decisions they need to gather information on all potential areas where new houses could be built in the future.
FPC Response Document - November '08

The Borough Council's results from these consultations are contained in Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment.
