A Fulford man
John died on Saturday 22nd April, 2006 after suffering from “farmers lung” for 40 years.
John had followed in his father’s footsteps by being very much involved in Fulford life. His wide knowledge of local people and wise counsel will be sorely missed.
Here is a repeat of the words used at his funeral on 3rd May:
“A man committed to the life of Fulford. There isn’t much that happens in Fulford that John wasn’t involved with. Village Hall committee from before the hall existed, School Governor of the Primary School he attended himself, councillor on Fulford Parish Council for over 20 years and latterly Stafford Borough Council.
John was committed to the village and it being an active community. He said the village needed a thriving school, village hall, church and pub and he did his best to help all of them.
Not someone who sought the spotlight, John was a quiet fixer who got others involved and made use of his connections. Yes, John was a Fulford man – forward thinking seeing the need for the village to grow and change, he put a lot into this village and will be missed.”
Our sympathies go to his family.
The death occurred in October 2006, of Eddie Allinson of Meir Heath, who in years past served our community both as a Parish and Borough Councillor. He was also a School Governor for Meir Heath Primary School in its early years. Fulford Parish Council wishes to express its sadness at Eddie’s passing, and extends its condolences to Eddie’s widow, Christine.
